The highlight of this ROG VII Hero WiFi motherboard is the use of the X470 chipset, which offers native support for the new AMD Ryzen 2000 processors, which are also compatible with 300 chipsets although they need a BIOS update.


Next to the X470 chipset, we find the AM4 socket, let’s remember that the AMD platform has the pins in the processor and not in the socket, just the opposite of what happens with its rival Intel.

The ASUS team has optimized the OPAMP gain between CPU Core voltage, CPU SOC voltage, DRAM Voltage, and + 12V input voltage to minimize voltage drift as much as possible.

It also implements for the first time the 32MB SPI ROM design on X470 motherboards, with a built-in BIOS image of 16MB lower, thereby reserving the additional 16MB for future processor support.

This is one of the best motherboards on the market for the AM4 socket. We thought that Asus could not set the bar higher, and this time they have done again. A greater recognition of RAM at high speed (Thanks AGESA), high storage performance, long-lasting components, and a brutal aesthetic are its main guarantees.

In our tests, we have set our AMD Ryzen 2700X to over 4.25 GHz with just 1.36 ~ 1.38v100% stable with 3400 MHz Sniper X memories. Offering a significant increase in performance in games and synthetic tests. 

Also a special mention for its improved sound: Asus SupremeFX 1220. Ideal for professional headphones compatible up to 600 ohms and an ESS Hi-Fi Saber ES9023P HD DAC that offers a much more crystalline sound.

Its prices vary for the version with Wi-Fi and the version without WiFi. We believe that they are more than justified prices for a motherboard that ensures a good overclock and stability in the system. If you prefer the version without Wi-Fi, it is a little cheaper because this board does not have connectors for integrated graphics so that you will need an external graphics card.
